Apetit has agreed on the sale of the biosteam plant located at the Kantvik vegetable oil milling plant to Adven Oy. At the same time, Apetit and Adven have agreed on a long-term energy supply agreement. The biosteam plant was completed in 2021.
The transaction concerning the biosteam plant will be completed at the beginning of 2027. In accordance with the energy supply agreement, which will enter into force at the same time, Adven will be responsible for the operational activities of the biosteam plant and any future investments.
“We are pleased with the solution in which a competent operator that is focused on energy both acquires and takes responsibility for the biosteam plant of the oilseed milling plant. This enables us to focus our resources on our core business,” says Timo Huttunen, Director of Oilseed Products business at Apetit.
Adven Oy has long experience in providing energy services in Finland. In 2022, Apetit announced that Apetit and Adven had agreed on the energy solutions of Apetit’s Säkylä plant through a long-term partnership agreement.
The sale of biosteam plant will have no impact on the operating result of the Apetit Group for 2026.
